Downtempo triphop/synthpop trio Slow Leak return with The Sequel. The new record far surpasses the debut, tackling a full circle emotional journey through the lens of vocalist Ava Hart through a haze of 90s style edgy R&B downtempo minimalism. Artificial Love is the album's sexy and shimmering first single, inspired partly from the cheesy 80s dystopian comedy, Cherry 2000. In a world of increasing isolation using technology and now AI, of course, the song is a subtle critique of the idea of artificial relationships. Ava plays the role of an artificial companion. This comes from my last hurrah of pre-TOS change Udio, and frankly, I think it's a darn downtempo masterpiece. I'm fairly proud of my creation, and I hope someone can enjoy my vision here as much as I had making it (after I nearly pulled the rest of my hair out findin out how to overcome CapCut's stupid exporting issues).
